GOOD FOOD BENEFITS A GOOD CAUSE

Wichita—There was nothing fishy about this fund-raising event at the new Bonefish Grill located at The Waterfront.  More than 250 attended the Charity Night dinner benefiting Three Trees, a center for grieving children and their families. The event raised over $9,500.

Guests of the sold out event enjoyed a sampling of the freshest fish cooked on a wood burning grill, complemented with signature sauces and toppings, appetizers and drinks.  Bonefish Grill selected Three Trees as the beneficiary of this special event to celebrate and launch the opening of their Wichita location.

“We’re thankful that Bonefish Grill is so community-minded to put on an event like this,” said Jeri Biehler, executive director of Three Trees.  “We’re also grateful for everything our supporters and volunteers do to make Three Trees a quality program that families can turn to during their time of grief.”

Some of those attending Bonefish Grill Charity Night include Katie Frank, John and Randy Cooper, Bob and Jamie Schmaltz, Bob and Sara Dunne, John and Cindy Carnahan, Polly Basore, Joan Moore, Brad and Melanie Hatt, Shirley Haines, David and Michelle Wheeler and Al Buch.

Three Trees is a nonprofit that offers support groups and services to children ages 3-18 and their families free of charge.  This month, Three Trees will launch its fiftieth support group since opening in 2000.  More than 90 percent of the families who have attended programs at Three Trees reported an overall improvement in the quality of their family life, and 88 percent saw improvements in their children’s school behavior and performance.
